China Sports News The 6th China Billiards Association Chinese Billiards World Championship in Yushan, Jiangxi Province ended the semi-final competition on December 14th. In the men’s group, Zhao Ruliang and Shen Shenyi joined forces in the final, while in the women’s group, Tang Chunxiao and Liu Xiazhi met in the final.
Zhao Ruliang’s semi-final opponent is 2017 World Championship champion john young. In the first stage, Zhao Ruliang led by 11-7, and in the second stage, Zhao Ruliang fought more and more bravely, and finally won by 21-10, making it to the finals of two consecutive World Championships.
The other semi-final was played between Shen Shenyi and Xu Tianwei. With a lead of 10-8 in the first stage, Shen Shenyi opened fire in the second stage, constantly widening the gap, and finally defeated Xu Tianwei 21-13, reaching the final of the World Championships for the first time in his career.
In the women’s semi-final, Tang Chunxiao and Zhang Muyan met as favourites to win the championship. After the two men fought to a 5-5 draw, Tang Chunxiao won three games in a row. Zhang Muyan tried to catch up, but Tang Chunxiao didn’t give his opponent a chance and won 13-9.
In the other semi-final, Liu Xiazhi beat He Xinru of China Taipei 13-3.
It is worth mentioning that Zhao Ruliang, Shen Shenyi, Tang Chunxiao and Liu Xiazhi have not won the World Championships before, which means that this World Championships has ushered in two new champions.
