When the Haval Big Dog was launched, it received a lot of attention with the naming of the circle and the positioning of the "3/4 scale". After Haval H-DOG announced the official naming of the "Haval Second Generation Big Dog", the popularity of the new car continued to soar.

On February 27th, Haval’s second-generation big dog was officially launched. The new car launched a total of six versions, including the fuel version and the hybrid version, and the price range was 13.58-17 5,800 yuan. In fact, Haval’s second-generation big dog is not the second-generation product of Haval’s big dog. Haval’s second-generation big dog has a higher positioning, and it is also the first green-label model in the "dog category". We can imagine that the power performance and functions of Haval’s second-generation big dog will add more "electronic flavor".
Genes of the "dog" family
The "dog category" family products basically have certain off-road performance, but at the same time, they also take into account the comfort of driving, and find the brand positioning between off-road vehicles and city SUVs. As the latest product in the family, Haval’s second-generation big dog has been adjusted in more details on the basis of continuing the family’s genes.

First of all, in terms of appearance, the new car adopts a new front face style. The sturdy grille on the Haval Dog is replaced with matrix chrome-plated elements. At the same time, the retro headlight sets and fog lamp areas on both sides have also been adjusted to make the front face look more delicate.

The side also shows the tough style of the family product, and the raised muscle lines are in line with its positioning. The rear of the car echoes the front face, and the blackened polygonal taillights make the tail very recognizable.

Haval’s second-generation big dog is positioned as a medium-sized SUV, with a length, width and height of 4705/1908/1780mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2810mm. In addition, the approach angle of the new car is 24 °, the departure angle is 30 °, the longitudinal passing angle is 19 °, the minimum ground clearance is 200mm, and the wading depth is 560mm, the highest in the same class, ensuring the passage of Haval’s second-generation big dog.

The interior mainly highlights the sense of grade. The 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and 14.6-inch central control screen are the main sources of technology in the car, and the style will be more simple than that of Haval Big Dog. In terms of configuration, the reinforced off-road handle highlights its light off-road attributes. The car uses a large number of leather packages and fighter lever shift mechanisms, providing a combination of 9-inch W-HUD, 360 ° panoramic image, 180 ° transparent chassis, and the same level of unique wheel viewing angle. The configuration level is not low.

The new car is based on the latest generation of coffee intelligent cockpit system, which means that its intelligent configuration is the current highest level of the Haval brand. It is worth noting that the owner can control the vehicle parking with one button through the mobile phone, and can currently achieve the longest straight distance of 20m, achieving less than 12% automatic parking on the slope.
Injecting new blood into "electrification"
As the first new energy SUV in the "dog category", Haval’s second-generation big dog’s powertrain is naturally one of its biggest highlights. In addition to the 1.5T and 2.0T fuel versions, the new car is also equipped with a new 1.5T + drive motor + 2-speed DHT plug-in hybrid powertrain, with a total system power of 240kW, a maximum torque of 530N · m, a 100-kilometer acceleration of 6.9s. Under WLTC conditions, the comprehensive fuel consumption is 1.85L/100km, and the comprehensive cruising range exceeds 1000km.

In addition, with the blessing of DHT technology, more new "poses" have been unlocked. Haval’s second-generation big dog is equipped with a 220V reverse discharge function, with a discharge power of up to 3.3kW, up to 30 + hours when fully charged, and is equipped with an industry-first camping mosquito repellent lamp, which is not available in other "dog category" models, and is more suitable for the practical needs of friends who like outdoor interaction.

Who will be the competitor of Haval’s second-generation big dog?
In the domestic medium-sized new energy SUV market, the Tang DM-i is one of the best-selling models, but it is not difficult to see that the competitors facing the Haval II generation big dog are not the Tang DM-i, mainly the Tiggo 8 PLUS Kunpeng e +, Skyworth HT-i and SAIC MAXUS EUNIQ 6 models. According to the brand influence, only the Tiggo 8 PLUS Kunpeng e + can pose a greater threat to the Haval II generation big dog.

Compared with the basic data of the two, Haval’s second-generation big dog and Tiggo 8 PLUS Kunpeng e + each have their own advantages. First of all, in terms of size, Haval’s second-generation big dog has more advantages in terms of width, height and wheelbase, which is expected to bring a wider riding space. Of course, you have to experience the strength of the car to know the bottom line.

Secondly, in terms of power, both models use a plug-in hybrid system with a 1.5T engine as the main engine. On the book, the Tiggo 8 PLUS Kunpeng e + looks more advantageous, but it is slightly slower than the Haval second-generation big dog in terms of 100 kilometers acceleration. The advantage of the Tiggo 8 PLUS Kunpeng e + in pure electric range is particularly obvious.

In Brother Huanluo’s opinion, what makes Haval’s second-generation big dog more advantageous is its configuration level. In comparison, the low-end version of Haval’s second-generation big dog already provides a wealth of safety auxiliary configurations, such as front and rear parking radar, lane departure warning system, 360 ° panoramic image, full-speed adaptive cruise system, etc. At the same time, the 220V reverse discharge function provided by the new car makes it more competitive, which I believe has filled its disadvantage in pure electric cruising range.
Write at the end
Looking at the current new energy SUV market, there are still many untapped market segments, and the market where Haval’s second-generation big dog is located is one of them. Unfortunately, Haval’s second-generation big dog currently only launches a four-wheel drive version, and it is expected that different configurations of four-wheel drive versions will be launched in the future. Friends who like four-wheel drive models may have to wait a little longer.
