Recently, the Blue Knight Party Branch of Ele.me and the Party Branch of the West District Branch of the Shanghai Medical Emergency Center held a signing ceremony for the joint construction of the party. The two sides will jointly conduct first aid training such as wound dressing for the Blue Knights to improve the riders’ understanding of first aid knowledge. "Hundreds of thousands of takeaway riders shuttle through the community every day, hoping that after public first aid training, more and more Blue Knights can become mobile ambulancemen," said Zhou Ziqing, secretary of the Blue Knights Party Branch.

On the same day, six Blue Knights in Putuo District received a special offer from Ele.me. They will serve as community first aid volunteer representatives to provide simple first aid help to community residents in case of emergencies. The training instructors at the West Branch of Shanghai Medical Emergency Center conducted first aid training on trauma bandaging for dozens of Blue Riders on site. The trainers started with traffic safety issues commonly encountered by takeaway riders, and explained in simple terms the types of bleeding that may be encountered in accidents, and how to correctly call for help. After explaining the bandaging techniques and precautions suitable for different parts of trauma by hand, the riders formed pairs and carried out practical exercises with each other.

Practical exercise

The training also received an enthusiastic response from the Blue Knight. "I just learned that if the tourniquet is not tied in the right position, it may damage the nerves, and it is best to loosen it properly every hour," said Zhang Nannan, the Blue Knight. "Without this expertise, there is really no way to start in case of an emergency."

It is understood that Ele.me and the West Branch of Shanghai Medical Emergency Center will also organize regular first aid training, not only to enable Blue Knights to learn practical first aid knowledge, but more importantly, in the face of emergencies, everyone has the ability and should take action to rescue others.
