As the flagship product launched by HarmonyOS Zhixing, Wenjie M9 has integrated Huawei’s deep thinking and the meaning behind the product in the design and research and development stage. In terms of exterior color matching, the new car offers five exterior colors for consumers to choose from, namely, Mu Ye Green, Gilded Black, Danxia Orange, Yadan Black and Xinghe Blue, among which the last three colors are double colors, which is in line with the aesthetics of target users with this price.




Under this seemingly simple appearance, the new car hides many scientific and technological intelligent accessories, and also creates a unique sense of scientific and technological aesthetics. In particular, its front face design adopts a unique design language of "Kunpeng Wings Spreading", which is quite different from the split light group design adopted by many models on the market at present. Wenjie M9 integrates the functions of megapixel headlights HUAWEI xPixel, ADB, AFS headlights and intelligent interactive matrix lights, which not only can easily meet all kinds of lighting needs, but also has a very intelligent side. The concept of "integration of inside and outside, people-oriented and experience first" is used in the interior design of the M9, and the double-layer embracing cockpit with symmetrical shape creates a visual comfort for the car. In terms of material selection, Wenjie M9 uses a lot of Nappa leather to cover the main part of body contact, and at the same time, the car also uses natural cork and crystal decorative pieces, which further enhances the exquisite and luxurious feeling of the interior.


In terms of intelligence, the M9 also comes up with the standard of the flagship model, and the One Glass triple screen can meet the needs of the front row for interactive and intelligent experience. In addition, it also supports HDR Vivid mode and adaptive light sensitivity adjustment, which can be more realistic in both color and clarity. In the system part, the HarmonyOS 4 intelligent cockpit based on the Ark engine is used in the M9, and the whole car can talk and call out commands at will regardless of the sound zone, truly achieving an intelligent experience without feeling.

With the cooperation of "Xiaoyi classmates", it can also accurately identify voiceprints and sound areas, and give accurate answers and feedback to the needs of different family members in the car. The 32-inch projection screen of the new car is equipped with a telescopic X-shaped bracket to ensure its stability, safety and aesthetics. The projector is located above the third row, and the heat generated when it works will be directly discharged outside the car, so as to prevent the heat from affecting the comfort of passengers in the third row. In addition, whether people are most concerned about motion sickness or not. Personally, it depends more on the driver’s "driving skills", at least there will be no discomfort at rest. In addition, after closing the sunshade, its brightness and clarity are not bad. As for how to operate, you can operate in three ways: the remote control delivered with the car, the mobile phone and the "transmission" of the contents on the front screen.
It’s a pity that after the curtain is unfolded, the adjustment angle of the front seats will be limited, and the viewing sight distance of the second row of regular positions is slightly close, and the third row of viewing will be partially blocked because of the position of the second headrest, so the second row of seats will be adjusted to the best viewing position at last. As for why it is a projection, the screen is not used. The official explanation is to avoid the panoramic skylight above the screen being folded.


The entertainment and configuration experience of the M9 is also quite eye-catching. The car is equipped with a complete set of HUAWEI SOUND excellent series audio system, equipped with 25 professional audio units, including 7 surround channels and 4 sky channels. Before talking about the interior space, let’s take a look at the seat of the M9. In addition to providing each seat with thick padding, headrest and lumbar support to improve the riding comfort, it also comes standard with seat heating (the steering wheel is also heated) and seat ventilation/massage in the first/second rows, which is very rich in configuration.



After the zero-gravity seat mode is turned on, the right seat in the second row will translate to the left, and then expand back and forth. In order to solve the problem that the original "door armrest" on the right side can no longer be used after the seat is translated, the engineer added a right armrest for use after turning on the zero gravity mode, and both it and the left armrest are electrically adjusted. The system will automatically adjust their angles according to the angle of the seat and always keep them horizontal.

The problem of handrails has been solved, but new problems have come again. How to ensure the leg space? In order to make the passenger seat move forward as far as possible and keep the height as low as possible, which is similar to the height of the passenger’s feet. The engineer abandoned the glove box to meet the first demand, and moved the cushion forward separately, so that the rear end of the cushion and the lower end of the back of the chair formed a space for the side wing of the back of the chair to use to solve the second demand. Combined with the variability of the seats on the right side of the second row, such as the co-pilot seat with foot rest, you can also switch the new car between 3/4/5/6 seats according to your personal needs and freely combine them to meet the travel needs of different scenes. ● There are joys and sorrows in space.
Compared with its rich seat changes and functions, the space performance of the M9 is still slightly inferior. There is no problem with the space in the first/second row, and there is some shortage of leg space in the third row, and there is a lack of support for the legs. Surprisingly, the new car seat does not support stepless adjustment before and after. ……




The floor in the third row of M9 is not raised, but keeps the same horizontal line with the front, which is similar to the MPV model, which deserves a good comment. In addition, there is plenty of lateral space in the third row, and it won’t feel crowded when taking two adults at the same time.






The performance of the M9 in the storage part is obviously better. The whole car provides as many as 42 storage spaces, which can easily meet various needs in daily life. It is worth mentioning that the storage compartment on the left side of the platform is designed as a private storage space, which can only be opened after logging into the corresponding account. The card slot of the driving recorder related to personal privacy is also located here, and the details are very thoughtful.
● The pure electric version is fast and can be braked.
In terms of dynamics, the M9 also performed well. The first good news is that all M9 cars in the world are dual-motor four-wheel drive models. There are two types of energy sources: pure electricity and extended range. The front (high-voltage asynchronous)/rear motor (high-voltage permanent magnet synchronous) of the pure electricity version are 160kW and 230kW respectively. The official acceleration score of 100 kilometers is 4.3 seconds. We measured it and achieved it easily. The braking performance is also quite brilliant. The large-size tire configuration is not only a sample, but also the tire performance+the strength of the brake caliper can make it a source of your confidence. The pure electric vehicle not only runs fast, but also has the highest charging power of 320kW, which naturally benefits from its adoption of Huawei’s "Whale" 800V high-voltage battery platform (the thinnest 800V battery pack in the industry /100kWh). Combined with its low energy consumption performance (official data 17.4kWh/100km), the battery life can be increased by 150km after charging for 5 minutes.
● The extended range device is the highlight.

The extended range version does not have an 800V platform, and its highlight is the range extender. It’s a 1.5T engine with a compression ratio of 15:1 and a thermal efficiency of 41%. Together with the 41.9kWh battery, CLTC has a comprehensive battery life of 1362km and a pure battery life of 224km. The officially announced 100km acceleration score is 4.9 seconds, and its strength is full.

Everyone can guess that even the M9 extended-range model with slightly weaker dynamic parameters is by no means good. No matter which power mode, the power output should be sufficient for daily use. Of course, the acceleration in comfort mode and sports mode is definitely faster than that in energy-saving mode, and the dynamic response is also faster.


In the process of driving, it is undoubtedly a good choice to obtain information such as speed through the 75-inch HUAWEI AR-HUD equipped with the new car. It has a sight distance of 8.5 meters from the driver, which is far enough, and the resolution reaches 1920×730. Coupled with the ultra-high brightness of 12000nit, adaptive adjustment and 1200:1 contrast, the picture is clear and easy to read.

As a family-oriented SUV, it’s time to roll up the comfort after rolling up the power. Listen carefully: All-aluminum chassis, front double wishbone+rear multi-link suspension system, intelligent closed air spring and CDC variable damping shock absorber are all standard, which is the ultimate card of the M9. However, the air spring doesn’t feel good enough here, because it’s just a single-cavity air spring. At this level and price, the double-cavity air spring is really easy to be caught and criticized, but we are more concerned about the actual performance of the suspension when it drives.

Suspension adjustment lived up to expectations and played the leading role comfortably. The overall tone is like a big ship, which will not erase all the bumps, but it will ride the wind and waves steadily all the way. Yes, I think this is the biggest difference between it and the ideal L9 vibration filtering performance. The M9 will retain a little more sense of road, but it will not disturb the ride comfort too much. The transmitted beats are all wrapped in a soft package, which is crisp in feeling. If you sit in the back row, you will feel a little more fragmentary vibration here. Relatively speaking, it is not as comfortable as the front row, but it is far from scattered, and the feeling is still soft.

As for the quietness, it goes without saying that the overall performance is quite good. After all, as long as there is enough electricity, it is driven by pure electricity, and with excellent drag coefficient, it is not unexpected to have such performance. Of course, the noise in the third row is relatively loud, and there will be noise coming in at the rear wheel arch when cruising at high speed.

The M9 car is equipped with an overhead laser radar, three millimeter-wave radars, eleven high-definition visual perception cameras and twelve ultrasonic radars, which can realize real-time perception of moving/static targets (including alien objects), plus super learning ability (the scene library model changes once every five days, and the simulation test is carried out for more than 12 million kilometers every day, and the learning and training calculation power reaches 2.8E FLOPS) and algorithms (PDP algorithm can be within one second). I have to say that the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 system installed on the M9 is the best system for my personal experience at present.

The editor experienced it in Chengdu, where there is no high-precision map. Let’s say the conclusion first-reliable! Whether it is changing lanes, giving way, crawling, starting, merging into the main road, merging two lanes into one, etc., the movement of the vehicle is smooth, and the judgment is carried out decisively, which is quite a bit like the feeling of an old driver.

High-level intelligent driving is very powerful on the road, and solving the parking problem after arriving at the destination is also easy for the M9. It supports more than 160 kinds of parking scenes, vehicles can automatically roam to find parking spaces, find people by themselves, and also provide custom parking spaces and follow-up reversing. For the sake of driving safety, the AEB system assembled by the M9 has the power of stopping a stationary vehicle at 120km/h, and the ESA emergency lane change assistance system is introduced to increase the auxiliary steering torque through the system to help the driver steer and avoid collision.
