Six bags of "online celebrity diet pills" were seized by the customs of Pudong International Airport, and some of the drugs were controlled psychotropic drugs.
On June 28th, a reporter from The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) learned from the customs that the customs of Shanghai Pudong International Airport recently found an abnormal X-ray image of an incoming passenger’s luggage during the entry inspection of passengers and luggage at the airport port.
After unpacking, the customs officers found 364 pills in 6 bags of "online celebrity slimming pills" in the passenger’s carry-on bag. After on-site rapid inspection, some drugs were suspected to contain diazepam. Appraised by Shanghai Drug Inspection Center, diazepam was found in the drug.
According to Shanghai Customs, diazepam belongs to the second-class psychotropic drugs controlled by China, and long-term use will lead to dependence and addiction. This case is the first case of controlled psychotropic drugs seized by the Customs at the Pudong Airport port in 2021. At present, the case has been handed over to the customs anti-smuggling department for further processing.
Customs reminder: According to the Drug Administration Law of People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Customs Law of People’s Republic of China (PRC) and other relevant laws and regulations, the state implements an import license management system for the import of psychotropic drugs. Diazepam belongs to the category of psychotropic drugs, but it is prohibited to bring or mail it into the country according to law. Transporting, carrying and mailing goods and articles prohibited by the state from entering or leaving the country is a smuggling act that violates the law and evades the state’s prohibition on entry and exit. There is no small matter in the security of the country. While consciously putting an end to drugs, passengers should be vigilant and not inadvertently become "accomplices" in the smuggling of psychotropic drugs and violate laws and regulations.
