Why does General Secretary Tong Tian ask to learn from Yuan Longping？
On September 17, 2019, the Supreme Leader signed a presidential decree to award 42 people with national medals and honorary titles according to the National People’s Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC)’s decision on awarding national medals and honorary titles, which was voted by the 13th session of the 13th the National People’s Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC).
According to the presidential decree, Yuan Longping and other eight people were awarded the Medal of the Republic.
On September 29, 2019, the awarding ceremony of People’s Republic of China (PRC) National Medal and National Honorary Title was held in the Great Hall of the People. The Supreme Leader awarded the Medal to Yuan Longping, winner of the Medal of the Republic.

2020年5月29日，他们收到了最高领袖总书记的回信，总书记向他们以及全国科技工作者致以诚挚的问候。
在最高领袖的回信中，袁隆平的名字排在第一位。
收到回信的袁隆平很兴奋，他说：“我很高兴收到习主席的回信鼓舞，我也一定会带领团队，朝着新目标，继续奋斗。”
2020年，袁隆平团队在全国十地启动海水稻万亩片种植示范。如今，10万亩海水稻平均亩产已经稳定超过800斤。
2021年1月15日，袁隆平海水稻团队宣布，目前已在全国签约600万亩盐碱地改造项目，今年将正式启动海水稻的产业化推广和商业化运营，拟用8至10年实现1亿亩盐碱地改造整治目标，实现“亿亩荒滩变良田”。
2021年5月9日，在三亚国家水稻公园示范点，袁隆平院士团队研发的“超优千号”超级杂交水稻最终测产结果为平均亩产1004.83公斤。
袁隆平奋斗一生的“伟大的事业”，关乎中国饭碗，是“稻花香里说丰年”，是“让所有人远离饥饿”。
