Today, when we talk about Mazda’s design, we always talk about zoom-zoom and Soul Design. What about the middle? In fact, around 2005, Mazda’s design aesthetics also had an evolution: flow. After three concept cars, Sassou (Sassou), Senku (Senku) and Kabura (Kabura), Mazda released Nagare (Naga) concept car at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show.
How do you say this thing? Mazda’s official statement is that the beauty of wind, water and magma flow is integrated into the car design, and the body lines do not emphasize the sense of muscle and strength, but want to restore the elegance and beauty of the fluid as much as possible. The Japanese still have a way of playing with this concept of god and god.
At the subsequent Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007, Mazda launched two first-time models with the concept of Streaming: the second-generation mazda 6 and mazda 5, which is the MPV.

When you pay for it, you all run away. Only a small amount of the 2.5L coupe version is introduced, and the travel version doesn’t touch it at all.

Ruiyi was sold in China from 2009 to 2016, and ended its life cycle in the same year as Lao Ma Liu, but the sales difference was more than a little bit. Fortunately, FAW was not idle, and took the technology to Pentium to create a B90, which was said to maximize the resource utilization rate. Unexpectedly, Mazda was never better.
The Third Generation of mazda 6: Artz (GJ1/GL, 2012-present)
It may be that the concept of flow is too advanced, and it is not even suitable for automobile design. It was abandoned by Mazda in just four or five years. In 2010, Mazda used the concept car "Tough" Shinari to tell the most successful story in the automobile circle: the design concept KODO- Soul of Motion ".
What is the concept of soul movement? Mazda official website said so. In short, it is the power of being ready to move. Talking to people is the beauty of the moment when you are ready to move but haven’t moved, such as moving.
Under the guidance of this design concept, Mazda exhibited the development blueprint of the third-generation mazda 6, Takeri concept car, at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2011, which is very similar to the production car running on the road. In 2012, Mazda released the sedan version of the third-generation mazda 6 at the Moscow Motor Show, and released the travel version at the Paris Motor Show in April the following year, canceling the coupe version, and named it Atenza and Artz globally.
Compared with the second generation, you can hardly find anything in common except the abstract pentagonal grille. The new design language emphasizes the sculptural feeling of the car body, weakens the existence of lines, and empowers the car body with the change of the curvature radius of the car body surface. Officially, this is a gesture from a cheetah when it is running, but in my opinion, it is the beauty of a plastic bag that is about to be blown away by the wind.

In terms of configuration, Artz’s early version of the engine is still two kinds of self-priming engines, 2.0L and 2.5L. With Mazda’s own excellent 6AT gearbox, it is silky smooth to drive. The interior has also been greatly upgraded. Although the screen is small, it is enough and easy to use without considering the comparison with the new forces. The ride space is also a little bigger, and the whole car has evolved in a bigger direction.
In China, Artz was introduced in 2014, but the real change occurred in several changes from 2016 to 2018. In 2016, Artz changed a set of interiors and introduced another housekeeping skill of Mazda: Chuangchi Blue Sky Technology.
In the early days, Chuangchi Blue Sky was just an engine technology developed by Mazda to meet the requirements of environmental protection. Later, Chuangchi Blue Sky became a set of optimization technologies for major automobile accessories, including a series of driving-related things such as engine gearbox chassis, in order to make the car drive more smoothly and save fuel. From 2017 to 2019, the whole set of blue sky technology was put on Artz, and the second generation soul design concept was applied to further erase unnecessary lines, so that the whole car could be made up of curved surfaces as much as possible, which is the latest Artz that everyone can see now.
Yes, Artz has not been replaced for ten years since it went public. The fourth-generation mazda 6 has had information flowing out since last year, saying that the new car will adopt the same design concept of "the soul of motion" as CX-50, and even the whole system will have six cylinders, with the rear drive in the middle.
